Back to Daycare: How to Label Your Stuff for Daycare

It’s daycare season! We know many of you are returning to daycare or starting your kids at daycare for the first time. If you’ve enrolled a kid at daycare, you might have received a large packet that shares all the recommended items to bring for your kid. In addition to having a list of items to bring, daycare centers will stress the importance of having everything labeled.

Why is Labeling Important?

Labeling everything is important for daycare centers because it helps keep kids safe and organized. Labeling allows caregivers to quickly identify which items belong to each child, reducing the risk of lost or misplaced belongings. It also ensures that all children have access to their food, clothing, toys, and other everyday items.

Furthermore, labeling can help keep children from accidentally taking items that are not theirs. By clearly labeling all belongings, caregivers can help ensure that kids stay organized and don't mix up their items with those of other children. Labeling also provides a great opportunity for teaching young children about ownership and responsibility, which is an important part of growing up. With clear labels, kids understand that certain possessions belong to them, and they learn the importance of being careful to take care of their own things.

What Does Your Child Need to Bring & Label to Daycare?

While your daycare will most likely provide you with an informational packet that shares what your child will need, here are a few items for daycare we recommend for your child.

  • Prepared bottles & baby food for your child
  • Diapers
  • Wipes
  • Crib Sheets & Sleep Sack
  • Pacifiers
  • Extra Clothes (Recommended: Two Outfits with Socks)
  • Bibs (silicone for babies being introduced to solids and cloth/drool bibs everyday wear)
  • Creams
    • Sunscreen
    • Lotion
    • Diaper Cream
  • Medication, if needed
  • Photos from home
  • Extra shoes/rainboots
  • Outdoor gear
  • Food Items
    • Sippy Cups
    • Baby Bottle
    • Lunch Boxes
    • Water Bottles
    • Bottle Tops

All these checklist items need to be labeled, and any food items or creams should also be labeled.

What Labels Should You Use for Daycare?

Regarding labeling, parents often face the dilemma of properly labeling their items. Some may go the do-it-yourself route and use markers and tape. Other parents might use a permanent marker on their items and hope the marker sticks for the best after running items through the washer or dishwasher.

Name Bubbles labels are the perfect solution for all your labeling problems. Not only are the labels personalized, but they are waterproof, dishwasher-safe, and laundry-safe.

We have a premade Daycare Labels Pack with all the essential labels you’ll need. Our custom Daycare Labels comes with 96 personalized name labels, including clothing labels, labels for baby bottles, shoe labels, and name labels that are perfect for everything on your checklist.

All our labels are either stick on labels or more resistant iron labels. With our stick on labels, you just need to peel them off the pack and stick them onto your item. Since our labels won’t fall off in the wash or the laundry machine, you can clean all their items without worrying about having to re-label them.

Our Baby Bottle labels are great for labeling bottles. We have labels that allow parents to write on the label to easily keep track of when a bottle is made or which bottle belongs to which child. With personalized labels, the possibilities are endless.

Happy Labeling!

Labeling can be a great tool for daycare centers to provide a safe environment where children can learn, play, and grow. It helps keep track of everyone’s belongings while reducing the chance of lost or misplaced items. Plus, it's an easy way to teach kids about respect and responsibility. So, don't forget to label! It's the way to go when it comes to creating a safe and organized experience for your child!
