Freezer Smoothie Packs are genius if you ask us! Not only do you save time and money by meal prepping your smoothies, but it can also save you from a lot of morning frustration and 10 am tummy grumbles. Our four recipes below are great for adults and kids alike, each packed with fresh fruits and/or vegetables, and bursting with flavor. Each recipe makes enough for four kid-friendly smoothie freezer packs. Go ahead and try one or all of these recipes out and let us know what you and your kids think!

1. Be Berry Good

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup raspberries or blackberries
  • 1 large banana
  • 1 big handful of spinach
2. Summertime Breeze

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 2 kiwi fruits
  • 1 cup peaches
  • 5 mint leaves
  • ½ of a cucumber, with seeds removed (preferably a larger variety, like English or Garden)
3. Banana Makin' Me Crazy

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½  large bananas
  • 1 cup melon (honeydew or cantaloupe)
  • 3/4 cup pineapple chunks
4. Vacation Time

Ingredients:

  • 1 large banana
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup mango
  • 1 big handful of spinach
Directions:
  1. Evenly divide all of the ingredients in the recipe into four quart-size freezer bags. Seal the bags tightly and slap a trusty Write-On Label on each bag and include the name of the smoothie, as well as the date. Then, pop them in the freezer!
  2. When you are ready to turn these freezer packs into actual smoothies, empty the contents of a single pack into your blender and add 1 cup of liquid. Turn on the blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy!
Helpful Tips:
  • Our favorite liquids to use are almond milk, coconut water, plain old water, or coconut milk.
  • We recommend using coconut milk with the Vacation Time smoothie pack for the tastiest results.
  • If you want to add a bit more substance to your smoothies, some good options include any type of nut butter, chia seeds, ground flaxseed, and/or dry oats.
  • Store smoothie packs in the freezer for up to three months.
