  • The moon came to be what it is when a large object hit the Earth and blasted out rocks that all formed together to orbit around the Earth.
  • The moon landing was watched on television by an estimated 600 million people.
  • The astronauts landed with only 25 seconds of fuel to spare! 
     
  • The astronauts left pictures of humans and recordings of several different languages on the Moon's surface.
  • “That's one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind” were the famous words by astronaut Neil Armstrong as he made the first human footprints on the Moon.
