FAQs
What type of labels come in the Name Bubbles kindergarten pack?
Our kindergarten value pack includes a mix of waterproof name labels (that are washable & dishwasher-safe), laundry-safe clothing labels, and durable shoe labels. The pack comes with 5 label shapes/sizes, a perfect assortment that keeps everything for kindergarten covered!
Should I label supplies if the kindergarten teacher uses a shared bin for the class?
It is very common for kindergarten teachers to pool supplies like glue sticks, crayons, and markers for the whole class to share. We recommend labeling your child’s personal items first, like their backpack, lunchbox, water bottle, headphones, and extra clothes (things that aren’t in shared bins). For the community items, check with your teacher at orientation! Many parents still like to put a name sticker on individual pencil boxes or folders so that when those items are distributed to desks, your child can easily claim theirs.
What items should I label for kindergarten?
You should label absolutely everything your child brings to school. Labeling is the best defense against lost and mixed-up belongings. Tag your child’s backpack, lunchbox, water bottle, personal headphones, scissors, pencil box, notebooks, folders, glue sticks, coats, sweaters, and even the inside tags of hats and gloves.
Does the kindergarten supply pack include iron-on labels?
No, this specific pack features our peel-and-stick clothing labels that can be applied to garment care tags or printed brand stamps. If you need to permanently label clothing or fabric items like socks or blankets, you can shop our line of [Iron-On Clothing Labels](https://www.namebubbles.com/collections/iron-on-clothing-labels).
How do I label clothes if my child's kindergarten has a strict uniform policy?
When children attend a school with a uniform policy requiring everyone to wear identical polo shirts, khaki pants, or cardigans, the lost-and-found fills up fast! Because everyone's clothes look exactly the same, clothing labels are an absolute lifesaver. Our laundry-safe clothing labels press right onto the clothing tag or brand stamp (tagless clothing). To make it even easier for your new student to spot their uniform in a sea of identical jackets, let them customize their labels with a unique, colorful icon (like a dinosaur or a unicorn) so they can spot their clothes instantly without needing to read the text.
Can I use these labels on kindergarten rest mats or blankets?
Most full-day kindergarten programs no longer have traditional nap times, but if your child’s school still offers this time, our labels are great for mats! These waterproof name stickers stick perfectly to the smooth surface of plastic or vinyl folding rest mats. For fabric blankets, you can apply our stick-on clothing labels to the care tag or use our iron-on labels for direct-to-fabric application.
Should I label my child's shoes if they don't change clothes for gym class yet?
Absolutely. Even if your kindergartener doesn't change into a separate gym outfit, shoes frequently come off during the school day. Whether they are kicking off their boots after rainy recess, changing into indoor sneakers, or just losing a shoe on the afternoon school bus, footwear mix-ups happen constantly. Our kindergarten pack includes durable shoe labels that fit right into the heel of their sneakers, boots, and even Crocs, so teachers can easily match up pairs and get the right shoes on the right feet.
My child is still learning to read their full name. How will labels help them?
We intentionally design our kindergarten name tags with optional bright colors, fun patterns, fun icons, and unique themes. During the customization process, let your child pick out a style and color- like a rocket ship, a farm animal, or their favorite color. Even if they cannot fully recognize their first and last name on a label yet, they will instantly recognize the style and color they chose. This builds incredible classroom confidence and helps them independently identify their belongings from day one.
When is the best time to order my kindergarten back-to-school labels?
The absolute best time to order is late June or July, right when your school district releases the official supply list (however, it’s never a wrong or bad time to start labeling!). Ordering early lets you skip the chaotic mid-August rush to get everything ready for back-to-school. Ordering a set early knocks one more thing off your to-do list, and once all other supplies and clothing have been purchased, your labels will be ready to add!
