FAQs
Why can’t I just use a permanent marker to label my mom’s clothes?
While a permanent marker seems easy, the ink often bleeds into the fabric fibers, becoming an illegible smudge after a few washes. Over time, these marks can even transfer onto other garments in a shared load, and eventually disappear, leaving your loved ones' belongings lost & unaccounted for. Our laundry-safe labels provide a crisp, professional look that stays legible and won't damage the garment, helping to maintain the dignity and "newness" of your loved one’s wardrobe.
How do I label items for a resident in memory care?
In memory care settings, we recommend a "dual-identification" approach. Include the resident’s full name and room number, and choose a label color that they’ll know is theirs. This helps the resident recognize their belonging even if they don’t notice the text first. Additionally, adding a room number to the label is the single most effective way to ensure staff can return items without having to check around with residents or put them in the lost bin.
Can these labels be used on "hard to stick" items like walkers or reading glasses?
Our waterproof name stickers adhere perfectly to smooth, non-porous surfaces like the metal frames of walkers, plastic frames of glasses, and even the curved surfaces of hairbrushes or TV remotes (if your loved one has glasses with frames too thin for a label, add the name sticker to a glasses case or pouch). For items that are handled frequently, the laminate coating ensures the ink never rubs off on hands or skin!
Are these labels safe for electronics or medical devices?
Absolutely! Our labels are non-conductive and use super-strong, durable adhesive that won't interfere with the function of electronic devices. Labeling chargers, tablets, and medical technology is highly recommended, as these are the items that are most expensive, easy to misplace, or leave behind in common areas like the dining hall or activity room.
What’s the best way to label things that don't have tags, like socks or handmade blankets?
We know many cozy items, like those favorite non-slip socks or a handmade quilt, don't come with a standard clothing or care tag. For these, our iron-on labels are the way to go! They bond directly to the fabric, so they won't scratch or irritate the skin, ensuring even the most unique and comfy belongings stay identified!
